Copper Scrap Trade Safety & Payment Security

Protecting buyers, suppliers, and brokers through International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) standards.

1. Bank Letter of Credit (LC at Sight)

High-value copper deals ($50k–$250k per container) should always be conducted via an **Irrevocable Letter of Credit (LC) at Sight** issued by a top 50 international bank. The buyer’s bank holds the funds securely and releases payment to the seller ONLY when the bill of lading and independent SGS assay inspection certificates match the contract specs.

2. SGS / Alex Stewart Assay Inspection

Independent third-party inspection firms inspect the copper scrap container at the loading port to verify that the wire is 99.9% clean, unalloyed, and meets ISRI Millberry standards before sealing the container.

3. ICC NCNDA & Fee Protection Agreements

Brokers and facilitators are legally protected under the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC 600/500) Non-Circumvention, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NCNDA) and Irrevocable Master Fee Protection Agreements (IMFPA).
